The first on this list, I’m going to write about body fat %, or weight loss overall. If you’ve been on this site before, you’ve seen me write about getting your weight under control. A lot of people don’t realize that body fat is very estrogenic. It is virtually impossible to have a high amount of testosterone, or raise your testosterone and libido, if you are overweight and have too much body fat on you. This is the reason why women naturally have more fat on their body, because body fat is estrogenic, and women have more estrogen in them. (It’s still important for them to keep their testosterone levels and body fat in check though). You have to think about testosterone levels and body fat like being on a see-saw or a lever. If one is low on one side of the see-saw, then the other side has to be high. When the higher side gets lowered, then the side that was lower now gets raised, or now has the possibility to finally get raised. There are several resources that says different goals for body fat %, but from my experience, average everyday women should aim to be in between at least 20%-30%. That should be low enough to where you look good, have a sexy body, and have all your body functioning optimally, but not look overweight. For men it’s a little different. Men should aim to be between 10%-20%. Now of course everybody and every body type is different. Some people feel and look better with less body fat, some people feel and look better with a little more. It’s just something you have to experiment with, but nonetheless you have to cut the majority of your weight down.

The next way to boost testosterone naturally is to simply lift weights, or some form of resistance training. So much research and testing have been done over the years to prove that some form of resistance training will raise testosterone and libido levels. One study done in 2006 at the University of Extremadura proved this. They took about 20 random males and gave them a 4 week workout plan; working out 3 days a week. The conclusion of this study was impressive. After the 4 week study, there was a 40% increase in resting testosterone levels. And surprisingly to me, there was a -24% decrease in resting cortisol levels. So not only did this study prove the increase of testosterone from resistance training, but it also shows that resistance training lowers the stress hormone, cortisol. To wrap it up, it is in your best interest, whether man or woman, to get your butt up and do some resistance training if your goal is to increase your testosterone levels overall.

This is one of the most important natural testosterone boosters, and once again, if you’ve been on this website you’ve seen me write about this. It is getting a good amount of sleep every night. The major reason sleep is one of the major ways to increase testosterone, is simply because most of your body’s testosterone production is active when you’re asleep. So if you’re not getting enough sleep on a regular basis, you’re not giving your body enough time to produce the most testosterone you can make. And on top of that, sleep is one of the easiest ways to lower the stress hormone, cortisol in your body. And just like body fat, you can think of testosterone and cortisol being on a see-saw. It is basically impossible for your testosterone levels to be at an optimal level if you have high stress and cortisol levels. So get some good sleep.
